The summer is packed away for yet another year.
I am now welcoming the early days of autumn.
Layering the windows with differing lengths of fabric, gossamer voile's, sari brights and rich woollen plaids.
Plump velvet cushions, thick fleece rugs, mohair soft throws.
Flickering candles, early evening shadows, the anticipation of a crackling hearth.
Whilst my mind is full of much preparation for this a new season, i am thankful for the season past, for that of mother nature's bounty, now well stored.
It's funny- I'm coming into full spring here in Australia, and suddenly all the sunny days are showing the dust, and making me tired of dark heavy timbers and velvet. So out come the linens and brights! And the dusting begins...
